"All people are born as individuals, but many die as photocopies." - Blessed Carlo Acutis
Carlo Acutis is to be canonized on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 27, in Rome. Carlo may provide an antidote to the struggles young people face today. As Bishop Andrew Cozzens says, “Carlo is in many ways the saint for our time.”
A teenager deeply familiar with technology, Carlo instinctively understood its dangers and offered a compelling alternative. When Carlo became interested in computer coding, he intentionally created websites designed to guide visitors toward the mysteries of faith, especially the Eucharist.
Brett Robinson from the McGrath Institute of Notre Dame captured Carlo’s insight succinctly: “Carlo is subverting the digital medium, reminding us that technology isn’t what’s enchanting; what’s truly enchanting is our Lord in the Eucharist.”
To mark Carol Acutis' canonization, Nativity will display some of his beautiful posters on Eucharistic Miracles during Donut Sunday on April 27.
Two new documentary films have been produced about our newest saint:- "Carlo Acutis: Roadmap to Reality" is a new documentary film produced by Castletown Media in association with Jim Wahlberg. As part of the continuing National Eucharistic Revival, a sculptor, Timothy Paul Schmalz, has created a striking piece depicting a crucifix with Eucharistic blood flowing from Jesus' wounds down toward a chalice on Carlo Actutis' laptop. a life example for the young
and a message of love for everyone.
You made him become enamoured with
Your Son Jesus, Making of the Eucharist
his “Highway to Heaven”.
You gave him Mary, as a most loving Mother,
and, with the Rosary, you made him
a poet of her tenderness. Receive his prayer for us.
Above all, gaze upon the poor,
whom he loved and helped.
Grant for me too, by his intercession,
the grace that I need …
And make our joy fulfilled,
placing Carlo among the Saints
of your Church, so that his smile
may shine again for us in the glory of your name.
