As we enter more fully into the season on Lent, I pray that our hearts are more open to receive the love of Christ through prayer, fasting, and serving those in need.
Important work has been underway at Nativity of Our Lord over the past three months. We have spent time discerning what our parish needs in a lay leadership model to support our new vision and mission as we: PREPARE the Way of the Lord, CELEBRATE God with us, and SHINE with the Light of Christ.
I have consulted with our parish trustees, Christina Crow and Tom Tucci, our Finance Council, and our parish leadership team regarding what sort of lay leadership roles would be most effective for helping us serve you, our parishioners.
After prayerful discernment and strategic thinking, we determined that our current and future needs would be best met under the leadership of a Parish Administrator — essentially serving our parish staff as a director of operations managing all aspects of the administration of the parish, excluding the spiritual and pastoral ministries that Fr. Erickson and I will continue to guide.
I am pleased to share that I have appointed Beth Giese to the role of Parish Administrator effective immediately. Beth has served as Director of Advancement since joining our parish staff nearly two years ago.
Over the past three months, Beth has demonstrated her exceptional leadership and commitment to Nativity by helping me keep operations running smoothly where needed while we determined the best path forward.
I am thrilled to have Beth in this leadership role and am fully confident that she will make a positive impact in the service of our parishioners and staff as we strive to make Christ known and loved at Nativity of Our Lord.
Sincerely in Christ, Fr. Tollefson, Pastor of Nativity of Our Lord
