Catholic Cemeteries is offering a new program now through October 2, Bringing Them Home, in which they will inter the cremated remains that people may have at home or stored somewhere, for a nominal fee of $200 per urn.
They will be interred into a communal crypt at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Mendota Heights. On October 24, Archbishop Hebda will lead a private committal service at the chapel which will will be recorded and available on their website on November 1 at www.catholic-cemeteries.org.
With this ministry, the Church seeks to accompany people through the grieving process by providing a place where a family can memorialize their love one, with ongoing care and maintenance, and the piece of mind that comes with knowing where their loved ones' bodies will rest permanently.
There are requirements for the program, but the deceased need not be Catholic. If interested, please contact Catholic Cemeteries at (651) 228-9991 to set up a meeting with a family service counselor.
