We wish to extend the warmest of welcomes to our newest adult members of the Catholic faith and of Nativity of Our Lord!
Below you’ll find their personal statements of their faith journey through our RCIA program, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
We are inspired and blessed by their witness to Jesus. Many thanks to all for your support and prayers for our newest members!
Aaron Garcia
I grew up in a Protestant Christian home. I’ve had the experience of attending many, many, many Christian churches that emphasize on different aspects of the Bible. I’ve gained wisdom and perspective from each church, yet never felt fulfilled.
My Christian journey started at a young age, accepting Christ in my heart (without Baptism), to later questioning and wrestling with my faith, then listening from a distance — yet chose my distance, to humbling myself and entering RCIA and receiving Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist.
God’s gaze never left, even when I foolishly believed I could hide. I am humbled by your grace, O Lord, and look forward to walking with you on this journey. For I see faith can move mountains and God is love.
Alexander Garver
I was born and raised in the Lutheran church in Madison, WI and later drifted away from the Lutheran church.
As my wife and I started our family, I became more and more focused on the question of “what can I learn from the past that will benefit my children?”
Eventually, this led me to the Catholic Church because of its belief in both scripture and tradition. Thank you for all of your prayers and support in this process.
MeeAe Kim
Growing up, my parents identified themselves as Buddhist, and my four siblings never entered a religion.
In my mid-20s, I began shopping around Christian denominations after witnessing how the Christians around me seemed to be better people than myself. I ended up liking Catholic Mass the best and joined the Church.
Since being baptized over 30 years ago, I’ve been a nominal Catholic without a real understanding of my faith.
The pandemic and ensuing rapid geopolitical changes in the world made me realize that life is a lot more precarious than I thought, and I ought to get truly right with God now.
Thus, I was finally confirmed this Easter Vigil. So now I dare pray, Jesus don’t let me be separated from you again.
Chrystyana Ladoucer
Chrystyana’s “Yes” to God this year is a blessing for her, Nativity of Our Lord, and the Church. She chose to deepen her relationship with Jesus through the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.
Her faith journey continues with the strength and graces of Jesus with guidance from the Holy Spirit.
